Spectacles developers:  Support for Spectacles is coming soon. For now, it is not yet available—please watch the Spectacles Reddit for future updates.

NEW
  • New capabilities in GenAI Suite:

    • AI Portraits Beta allows you to create your own AI Snap that you can share as a Lens.

    • Selfie Attachments allow you to add various props to users with text prompts – from wigs to creatures or ancient helmets—and have it magically appear, auto-placed on the head, neck, or upper body. No modeling required.

  • Camera Roll Widget - now utilizes the new CameraRollModule to allow multi-selection of media content. Customize media selection behavior and usage with user inputs and media selection events.

    • The new CameraRollModule allows you to select multiple selections of media content from the user’s camera roll. However, unlike MediaPickerTexture, it cannot filter for video/images only, or textures with faces only.

  • Beat Sync Custom Component - enables beat-responsive actions in a Lens. Build visuals and effects that respond to beat, beat index, and downbeat events in a music track. Alternatively, directly interact with the Beats Audio API.

  • You can now record a new texture from another texture. For example, you can record a user's reaction and play it back later.

  • Easy Lens: New blocks that you can add to your Lenses: Voice Changer, Hair color, Eye color, Bitmoji Head, Leaderboard, Coloring Page, Body Morph Costume.

  • New ways of learning Lens Studio:

    • Interactive Tutorials in Lens Studio - “Building Your First Lens for Snapchat”. This interactive tutorial series walks you through each step of building their first project in Lens Studio, starting from a blank default project. By the end of the series, you'll have recreated the Birthday Countdown project: from face effects to scripts!

    • Part 5 of the Bitmoji Runner Game tutorial is now available in English and Arabic! Learn how to bring your game to life by adding physics and collision detection, making obstacles react realistically and your Bitmoji respond with animation on impact.

  • You can now optionally set Lens Studio directly to the last opened project by enabling “Open Last Project on Launch” in the General section of Preferences.

IMPROVEMENTS
  • The new Realistic setting in the Style Generator tool allows Lens Creators to create hyper-realistic effects that change the Snapchatter’s clothes, hair, and accessories.

  • Bitmoji Suite: The Outfit category now allows Lens Creators to select the garment color.

  • Face Swap - new realtime mode continuously updates the swap, allowing the target face to drive expressions in real-time on the swapped source face.

  • Lens Icon Generator now creates higher-quality lens icons.

  • Remove deprecated apis in the Tween and Makeup Presets. Add the updated Tween and Makeup Package from the Scene Hierarchy panel.
