At Snap, we have big plans for 2022. We’re constantly striving to advance our AR platform and create new opportunities for creative professionals around the world. In this update, we’re introducing a shift in Lens Studio’s user interface (UI), paired with some exciting new enhancements meant to lay the groundwork for a faster, easier, and more customizable experience. This year is already looking bright — and we’re just getting started.
Installable Content
We’re excited to introduce Installable Content. In this release, we’re starting with templates, and soon, we’ll adapt Installable Content to other aspects of the Lens Studio experience, offering the ability to install, update, and remove different types of content and manage updates. You can now pick and choose which content to install and when to install it. In the near future, we hope to roll out this foundational UI out across Lens Studio, including preview assets, components, and more.
Cloth Simulation UI
With overarching UI enhancements, Cloth Simulations have never been easier to apply to your AR Fashion Creations. Gone are the days of using JavaScript — now, simply open the new Cloth Simulation panel to adjust parameters and render cloth surfaces in real-time.
Foot Tracking
Stay a step ahead of the rest in your Lens Creations with Snap’s improved Foot Tracking capability! Attach objects to feet or use foot motion to trigger effects powered by Snap ML. It’s a walk in the park.
VoiceML for Spectacles
(Coming Soon)
Last, but certainly not least, be on the lookout for the upcoming release of enhanced VoiceML for Spectacles. You can expect an updated, refined, and overall better user experience with plenty of helpful new features and a template that demonstrates the use of speech recognition in a Spectacles Lens.
We hope you’re looking forward to this year as much as we are. With all of the enhancements, updates, and new projects coming soon, we can’t wait to share all of the latest and greatest with you. In the meantime, be sure to test out all of these new features and, as always, let us know what you think!
