At Lens Fest 2023, we introduced Lens Studio 5.0 Beta, a rebuilt version of Lens Studio with faster performance, small but mighty features to enable efficient workflows, and exciting generative AI tooling. We partnered with Meshy to provide PBR Material Generation, so you can turn any 3D mesh into a ready-to-use object in your scene. We also introduced 3D Face Mask generation and texture generation.
So, what have we been up to since? Well, we’ve been continuously launching updates with a variety of fixes and features to bring this Beta version to eventual parity with Lens Studio 4.55. For now, we want to take a moment to celebrate some of the features we love — and make sure you haven’t been sleeping on them! Below are just some of the new features we’ve added since the Beta launch. These features add efficiency, provide easier troubleshooting, and offer faster feedback loops when creating. Bonus: There are a bunch of new assets in the Asset Library — some from AR creators just like you!
With new Compression tools in Lens Studio, you can easily reduce the size of assets and of your Lens — critical to a performant experience on Snapchat. Live Preview Inspection enables a faster feedback loop because you can see the effect of the changes you’re making in the editor in real time on the Lens.

Asset Preview
View, inspect, and rotate an asset up close, separate from the project, in a standalone space in the Editor. Visualize multiple 3D and animated assets at the same time. Asset Preview helps you make more informed decisions regarding the assets you’re including in your Lens.
